- Processes payroll on a bi-weekly basis for multiple pay groups across multiple states.
- Understands the flow of information in the HRIS and performs necessary tasks.
- Complies with payroll policies and procedures.
- Performs periodic data audits of employee files and documents, and related data entry into HRIS, for accuracy and compliance, including personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, job codes, department assignments, time setup, and status changes.
- Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
- Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports.
- Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions for authorized outside agencies.
- Communicates regularly with other payroll/accounting/HR staff regarding payroll matters.
- Knowledge and experience in multi-state payroll tax matters.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work beyond normal working hours when deadlines call for it.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Minimum 3-5 years payroll experience in a multi-state payroll position.
- Experience in Ultimate Software preferred.
