Join our Database Operations team as a Database Administrator to ensure the performance and reliability of mission-critical SQL Server infrastructure supporting healthcare providers nationwide.
The Opportunity:
As a Database Administrator, you'll architect scalable data solutions, optimize complex database systems, and apply modern cloud-ready practices to our evolving infrastructure. We're seeking a passionate technologist with enterprise-scale database experience, Azure platform exposure, and a track record of delivering robust and secure data platforms.
What You Will Do:
- Design and implement automated solutions for database monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization across a robust SQL Server data platform.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks for backup/restore operations, integrity checks, and replication management at scale
- Develop tools to automate repetitive administration tasks and standardize processes
- Create automated alerting and remediation workflows to proactively address performance issues
- Maintain and improve infrastructure-as-code for environment provisioning and configuration
- Contribute to our automated deployment pipelines and continuous integration processes
- Participate in on-call rotation to triage and resolve critical issues outside of business hours
- Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in the environment.
What You Will Bring:
- 3-5+ years of experience managing SQL Server in enterprise environments.
- Strong scripting skills (Power Shell, T-SQL) with a focus on automating common administration tasks and the challenges of a large environment.
- Exposure to the challenges of managing a large, complex environment at scale.
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server administration fundamentals (backup/restore, replication, HA/DR)
- Proven experience with database performance triage and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting platforms for large database environments.
- Understanding of Azure database technology stack.
- Basic understanding of configuration management and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Experience with enterprise job scheduling platforms (ex. JAMS, Ansible Automation Platform) is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with large transactional environments (3TB+) is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with database technologies.
