GPS - Cyber Security Engineer - Supervising Associate

Join EY’s Government & Public Sector (GPS) practice as a Cyber Security Engineer. In this role you will support the operational state of security technologies, lead projects, work with internal security teams, and bring operational expertise to new and upgraded technologies.

• Support the run state of our security technologies.
• Bring operational expertise into efforts introducing new technologies and upgrading current ones.
• Provide technical oversight of Information Security technologies that fall under the team’s responsibilities, confirming they operate within agreed service levels, compliance specifications, and peak performance.
• Manage and coordinate planned maintenance activities as well as incidents for Information Security technologies.
• Represent the team in specific project activities, including leading projects and managing the activity of others toward successful completion.
• Articulate technology issues/concerns that may emerge at any level of the technical stack, and from any component across the ecosystem, to technology leaders.
• Occasional weekend and off‑hour work to support the business. Work will also require a rotational on‑call schedule.

• Operational experience in an environment of more than 3,000 users.
• Detailed troubleshooting using analytical skills and collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and customers.
• Independent problem solving and solution finding.
• Strong documentation of processes, procedures, and security controls.
• Comfortable working remotely in a global virtual environment.
• Effective communication to senior leadership during stressful situations.
• Decision making, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
• Hands‑on experience with security technologies (e.g., Azure, O365, EDR, DLP, PKI, etc.).
• Basic scripting and automation skills; experience with CI/CD, Dev Sec Ops , and container technologies.
• Experience with WDAC and Microsoft Defender suite.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience managing Information Systems and Security.
• Strong English language skills – written and verbal.
• Experience training and coaching staff in technical processes and practices.
• Proven experience in configuration of Microsoft and Azure security services (Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Intune, Azure Monitor, etc.).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Top Secret Security Clearance.

• Experience with MS Exchange, O365, Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Advanced troubleshooting cloud environments; knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST SP 800‑53/171.
• Federal Government experience, including CMMC Level 3.
• Security certifications such as GSEC/CISSP or GIAC;
  Azure certifications (AZ‑900, AZ‑500, etc.); SANS courses.

• Competitive base salary $91,100 – $170,400 (US). Regional variations apply.
