Solutions Architect

Position Title: Solutions Architect

Client: Big Five Bank

Start Date: December 1, 2025

Duration: 12 months

Location: Hybrid – 4 days/week onsite in downtown Toronto

Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week

We are seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions. This hands‑on role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture (AWS), reactive systems, and enterprise‑level solutioning. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and technical leader who can align business needs with architectural vision.

• Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps and strategies aligned with business goals.
• Lead the design and implementation of repeatable, scalable technical solutions.
• Define and document architectural principles, standards, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess system impacts and recommend enhancements.
• Provide immediate support for critical production issues and coordinate resolution.
• Create and manage architecture assets across projects and portfolios.
• Deliver presentations and strategic input to senior leadership.
• Review technical work and guide development teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to solution design and implementation.
• Participate in system specification reviews and ensure alignment with architecture.
• Provide domain expertise and architectural guidance across the organization.

• 7–10 years of experience in IT or business environments.
• Strong background in enterprise architecture and solution design.
• Expertise in architecting REST APIs and Webhooks.
• Deep understanding of Reactive Architecture and Well‑Architected Frameworks

• Hands‑on experience with AWS
  ; AWS Solutions Architect certification or plans to complete it soon.
• Strong knowledge of middleware, CI/CD, testing, systems management, and enterprise data layers.
• Proven ability to assess business impact of technology decisions.
• Experience with requirements analysis, solution evaluation, and technology selection.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong problem‑solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to operate at an enterprise‑wide level and influence senior stakeholders.
