Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and technically proficient Desktop Support Technician to join our team for 3-4 months. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing IT‑related projects planned and managed by the Implementation Specialist, IT Support manager, or other IT leadership. This includes but is not limited to office moves, infrastructure technology deployments, end‑user technology deployments, and other efforts as needed.
The ideal candidate will work closely with cross‑functional IT teams and business unit partners.
- Assist with the relocation of staff IT equipment to a new main office location.
- Provide support to end‑users during and after relocation activities.
- Assist with equipment procurement requests.
- Assist with coordinating and communicating relocation activities with other IT staff and impacted departments.
- Assist with managing the IT equipment inventory.
- Coordinate with vendors and third‑party service providers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices.
- Will require physically moving end‑user equipment and IT Inventory.
- 3+ years of experience in information technology, preferably in a medium‑to‑large‑size corporate environment.
- 3+ years of experience supporting a business‑class computing environment, including supporting Lenovo (or comparable) laptops, docking stations, monitors, and other peripherals.
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and end‑user technologies.
- Working knowledge of the Office 365 environment including Word, Excel, and Outlook with an emphasis on using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visio and Project is a plus.
- Proficient in problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with setting up and using conference room technology.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining project priorities.
- Must have reliable transportation and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have safe work and driving habits.
- Must wear appropriate protective safety equipment when hazards justify its use.
- Physical Demand Level: Medium – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Knowledge of basic wired and wireless computer networking, understanding of networking equipment, and patching computers to proper IDF switch ports; aiding users connecting to wireless networks.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in a Microsoft 365.
- Experience with medium‑to‑large‑scale relocations of employees and IT equipment in a business environment is a plus.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when interacting with employees; ability to be courteous and helpful under pressure.
- Ability to engage and support C‑level executives with professionalism, delivering high‑quality outcomes.
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of cybersecurity best practices.
- CompTIA A+ certification is a plus.
Skills & Qualifications
Need strong communication, customer service skills, and professionalism. There is no ramp‑up time. Real world, hands‑on experience is required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY.
