The Heavy Equipment Operator I will operate heavy equipment at WM recycling facilities and landfills, performing tasks that support safe, efficient operations and adherence to company safety policies.

• Operates heavy equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance; maintains accurate records.
• Moves and positions raw materials and finished components using material moving equipment.
• Follows standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

• Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machine operation) most of the workday.
• Occasional exertion of physical effort in handling objects up to 30 pounds.
• Exposure to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to chemicals) rarely.
• Exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes most of the workday.
• Normal setting for this job is a shop or field.
