The Area Manager oversees a portfolio of multifamily properties across the lower Midwest region, ensuring strong site operations, financial performance, and team management. This role provides direct support to on-site staff, manages capital improvement projects, and assists with budgets, marketing, and advertising to meet occupancy and collection goals. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential to supporting both property performance and ownership objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support site staff to meet goals
  • Collaborate with Asset Manager, Property Accountant, and onsite team
  • Prepare or review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for properties/owners
  • Prepare additional reports for owners as requested
  • Project management of renovations, capital projects, and routine maintenance
  • Employment support including payroll paperwork, timesheets, and bonus plans
  • Contract preparation and management
  • Prepare monthly documentation for payment of credit cards and reimbursement invoices
  • Assist with vendor setup and management
  • Regular site visits to ensure policy implementation and compliance
  • Conduct site audits to ensure procedures are followed
  • Assist on-site teams with policy interpretation, compliance, and implementation
  • Monitor and manage accounting, marketing, and operational systems
  • Due diligence and budget preparation on new acquisitions assigned
  • Additional duties as needed by the company or department
Qualifications and Desired Skills
  • 5–10+ years of experience in multifamily regional management
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • LIHTC experience is preferred
  • Self-starter comfortable working in evolving roles and responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with various internal and external parties
