Position Summary

The Manager in Training position is our entry‑level management position. The primary responsibility is inspiring and leading our associates to ensure that we achieve Mike’s Purpose with every customer.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Execute Mike’s Purpose and deliver on our Team Member Promise, acting as a “role model” for associates’ behavior and performance.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
    Ensure all customers leave satisfied, maintaining wash quality, staffing, and professionally handling complaints and damages.
  • Operations Management:
    Assist the General Manager in achieving location goals and ensuring operations meet all Mike’s Carwash standards.
  • Associate Development:
    Complete orientation and training checklists, provide coaching, and document performance feedback.
  • Property and Equipment Maintenance:
    Assist with maintenance and repairs, complete OPEX checklists, and use the fix‑it book for repairs you cannot perform.
  • Personal Development:
    Participate in a structured management training program and continue learning new skills.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Work Schedule
  • Must work all scheduled shifts.
  • Must work at least five days and 40 hours each week, including every other weekend (unless otherwise approved).
  • Must be available to close at least two nights each week.
  • Must be available to open one morning each week (Monday‑Thursday only).
  • Work the five days leading up to Christmas.
  • Ability to transfer between stores within the market.
Physical Demands

The employee must communicate verbally and in writing, hear at a conversational level, use vision for depth perception, and distinguish basic shades and colors. The employee will continuously stand or walk, occasionally sit, stoop, reach, and/or twist the waist while rotating, perform repetitive movements, use hands for gripping pressure, and operate hand and foot controls. The employee will infrequently lift 50 lbs.

up to 3 feet, occasionally pull 10 lbs. up to 10 feet, and carry up to 50 lbs. for 10 feet. The employee may also repeatedly bend, kneel, and balance, and rarely climb stairs and ladders.

Work Environment

The employee may work with machinery with moving parts while wearing gloves, work outdoors in temperatures of 0‑100°F, work alone, and frequently handle chemicals requiring eye or hearing protection.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Reasoning:

    Score at least 80% on the Money Handling Skills Assessment without a calculator.

    Read manuals and reports, understand workplace rules, communicate poise, and confidently deal with customers.
