General Function:
Proficiently operates fine blanking machines in a process that produces precision blanked metal components.

Duties:

• Produces blanked metal parts, free from defects, using a fine blanking machine.
• Inspects parts to insure quality per customer specifications.
• Maintains dies by lubricating and visually inspecting for defects and proper placement.
• Assists maintenance department in performing machine specific preventive maintenance.
• Operates and maintains coil feeding equipment.
• Performs machine specific cleaning procedures.
• Maintains daily production data by entering part/lot numbers, production counts, inspection results, etc.
• Provides recommendations for continuous improvement.

Working Conditions:

Works inside plant where there is a great deal of noise from presses. The work may be dusty, dirty and greasy. Handles sharp edged metal and is exposed to chemicals such as oils and cleaning solvents.

Physical Effort:
Works on a hard surface; stands, stoops, bends, and lifts heavy objects (approximately 50 lbs.). Work involves continual movement of hands and arms.

Safety Equipment:
Wears safety shoes, glasses, gloves and ear plugs where required.

Qualification Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of production experience.

Additional

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years of technical experience in the unit or similar industry.
