General FunctionSupervises and directs all packing and shipping area operations. Coordinates packing of finished products for shipment to customers, maintains shipping schedules and inventory records.
Duties- Prepares work schedules for employees and directs daily activities in packing and shipping area.
- Assesses production rate to ensure orders are filled and shipped according to schedule.
- Trains new personnel.
- Evaluates packing material inventory and orders supplies as necessary.
- Posts and files daily packing inventory control records.
- Oversees the packing of products by evaluating size, weight, and number of products to be packed, and durability of appropriate cartons.
- Informs the Production Control Manager of packing and shipping schedules and objectives to be met.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Maintains inventory control of finished, packed products stored in the warehouse.
- Provides recommendations for continuous improvement.

Working ConditionsWorks inside a plant with significant noise from presses. Work may be dusty, dirty and greasy. Handles sharp‑edged metal and is exposed to chemicals used in oil.
Physical EffortWorks on a hard surface; stands, stoops, bends and lifts heavy objects (approximately 50 lbs.). Work involves continual movement of hands and arms.
Safety EquipmentWears safety shoes, glasses, gloves and ear plugs where required.
Qualification Requirements- High School diploma and two (2) years of general college study.
- One more year of shipping and receiving experience.
- One (1) or more years in a leadership position in shipping and receiving or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) or four (4) years of college or university education, preferring a BS degree in business administration.
- Two (2) or more years experience in shipping and receiving at supervisory level.
