Assembler Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Assembler with excellent coordination, mechanical aptitude, and manual dexterity. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of related mathematics and workplace regulations. You will be responsible for interpreting drawings, developing a logical sequence of operations, and laying out steel for various processes. Performing related duties as assigned, including activities at customer job sites, is also part of the role.
Responsibilities- Interpret engineering drawings and develop a logical sequence of operations.
- Layout and mark steel for cutting, burning, sawing, shearing, punching, rolling, bending, and straightening.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, brake presses, shears, and iron workers.
- Utilize metal cutting saws, grinding, and a variety of hand fabrication tools.
- Perform welding, blueprint reading, and fabrication tasks.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Ensure safety practices are followed for yourself and fellow employees.
- Perform repetitive tasks and stand or sit for extended periods.
- 4-7 years of experience in a machine shop and metal fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, blueprint reading, and fabrication.
- Thorough knowledge and operating experience with lathes, milling machines, and other fabrication tools.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Good oral and written communication abilities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of computers.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience with flux core, production, fitting, grinding, and assembly.
- Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.

Work EnvironmentWork in a metal fabrication environment specializing in dock equipment. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
