Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc., i s hiring a Scheduling Coordinator to join our Louisville, Kentucky machine shop. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating production schedules to help ensure customer delivery requirements are met while maximizing the efficient use of equipment and labor.
The Scheduling Coordinator will work closely with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and other departments to establish priorities, identify potential scheduling conflicts, and keep work moving efficiently through the shop.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication, problem-solving, and follow-through skills are essential for success in this role.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Scheduling and Capacity Planning
- Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer requirements, job priorities, machine availability, labor capacity, and operational needs. Sequence and prioritize work across Machine Shop resources to support committed delivery dates and maintain an efficient workflow.
- Review current and upcoming workloads to identify potential bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts, and work closely with Operations leadership and supervisors to adjust priorities, schedules, or resources as production conditions change.
Job Progress and Priorities
- Monitor active jobs and identify work at risk of falling behind schedule. Coordinate with supervisors and key stakeholders to keep priority work progressing and evaluate the impact of expedited jobs or changing customer priorities on the overall production schedule.
- Escalate significant schedule risks, delays, capacity issues, or resource conflicts to Operations leadership and assist in developing adjustments to keep production on track .
Communication and Coordination
- Serve as the central point of communication for Machine Shop schedules, priorities, job status, and anticipated completion dates. Communicate schedule changes and priority adjustments to affected departments in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Shipping & Receiving, and other departments to coordinate production needs. Participate in production and scheduling meetings and provide accurate job status updates and completion forecasts.
ERP and Schedule Maintenance
- Maintain accurate scheduling information in Epicor and other applicable systems by reviewing job status, operations, due dates, resource assignments, and other information that impacts production scheduling.
- Utilize ERP reports and scheduling tools to monitor workload, job progress, and production priorities. Identify and resolve inaccurate or incomplete information by coordinating with the appropriate departments to ensure scheduling data remains current and reliable.
