American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN
- Telemetry for a Neuro Surgical Specialty unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience and Epic proficiency.
- Neuro Surgical Specialty unit with 34 beds
- Patient ratio of 4-5:1
- Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical diagnoses (not stroke)
- Uses Epic EMR
- Equipment includes lumbar/JP drains and wound vacs
- Skills required include traction, PCA, trach care, EKG, and feeding tubes
- Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am
- Works every other weekend
- 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- RN does not read telemetry monitors
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Acute inpatient telemetry experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provides patient and family education throughout care and at discharge
- Supervises and mentors licensed and non-licensed staff
- Participates in practice governance and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Optional neuro certification class available through the neuro institute
