The Quality Supervisor is a hands‑on leader who drives product quality excellence by being deeply embedded in the manufacturing environment. This data‑driven, resolution‑oriented role focuses on rapid issue identification, effective containment, cross‑functional problem solving, robust corrective action implementation, and clear communication of internal quality performance.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and coach a Quality team that includes Product Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians, and a Quality Lab Coordinator.
- Set expectations, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, training sessions, and development planning.
- Approve timecards and vacation requests; ensure adequate shift coverage during absences.
- Quality Systems & Execution
- Own the Internal Corrective Action Program, ensuring timely completion and verification of effectiveness.
- Lead the team as the first responder to scrap, rework, audit failures, and workmanship defects.
- Ensure Quality Engineers lead investigations on the floor and collaborate with cross‑department teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain compliance with internal quality standards and procedures; escape systemic issues promptly and clearly.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Own the internal quality data pipeline—from collection to analysis to action.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visual tools to communicate performance.
- Present findings in weekly and monthly reviews with leadership and cross‑department teams, translating data into actionable insights.
- Identify trends and lead initiatives to improve product and process quality.
- Process & Resource Management
- Facilitate daily touchpoints with production teams to align on priorities and containment actions.
- Guide inspection and audit processes to ensure consistency and urgency.
- Support calibration and measurement activities by aligning resources with internal and supplier quality needs.
- Develop collaboration between supplier quality, field quality, and advanced quality functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years in a manufacturing quality role with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, PPAP, FAI).
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, TEAMS, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience in HVAC or industrial manufacturing environments is a plus.
