Physical Requirements

Sitting at a computer workstation for long periods of time; standing for long periods of time; risk of back injury from moving/lifting equipment or materials; lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs; pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs; exposure to hazardous chemicals or fumes; burns/cuts/punctures; blood borne/airborne pathogens; recombinant DNA/viral vectors. Shift 8–5, occasional nights/weekends if needed.

Job Summary

Dr. Ka Wing “Will” Fong, Assistant Professor, Department of Toxicology and Cancer Biology, University of Kentucky, is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to study transcriptional, epigenetic and metabolic regulation of prostate cancer. [See our publications:

241. The candidate will work on prostate cancer–related projects using cutting‑edge technologies, including CUT&RUN, CUT&TAG, ATAC‑seq, stable‑isotope resolved metabolomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.

Responsibilities
  • Study transcriptional, epigenetic and metabolic regulation of prostate cancer.
  • Design and perform experiments using genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic techniques.
  • Analyze data and interpret results in the context of prostate cancer biology.
  • Collaborate with the research group and assist in manuscript preparation.
  • Present findings at internal meetings and potentially at conferences.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior research experience in cancer biology and molecular biology.
  • Experience with genomic and proteomic technologies such as CUT&RUN, CUT&TAG, ATAC‑seq, and metabolomics is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and informatics skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
