Postdoctoral Fellow – University of Louisville Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology | Center for Integrated Environmental Health Sciences
The University of Louisville Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, in collaboration with the Center for Integrated Environmental Health Sciences, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team.
Position Summary- Perform experiments testing function of selected miRNAs.
- Chronic culturing of human keratinocytes over expressing selected miRNAs and exposed to arsenite.
- Analyze transcriptomic and proteomic data.
- Prepare manuscripts and poster presentations reporting experimental results.
- Prepare fellowship applications.
- Train students in laboratory procedures.
- Work in collaborative environment with other laboratory personnel.
- Plan and execute research experiments.
- Analyze experimental data and maintain up to date research notebooks.
- Read literature relevant to research and training objectives.
- Preparation of manuscripts and written reports.
- Prepare fellowship applications.
- Oral presentations at group/local meetings, attendance at seminars.
- Training students and technicians.
PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Toxicology or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in metals toxicology.
- Human cell culture experience.
- Next generation sequence analyses.
- Proteomics analyses.
- Experience in mechanisms of action of non-coding RNAs.
- Project planning and execution.
- Proficiency with major software packages (e.g., Word, Excel, Power point, Graphpad).
- Preparation of research findings for manuscripts and presentations.
- Data analysis.
- Organization.
- Self-initiative.
- Critical thinking.
- Laboratory environment.
- Safe handling of biological and chemical agents.
- Light lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Mentoring/laboratory training.
