RFS Retail Team Leader – Kentucky, Louisville

RFS Retail Team Leaders share responsibility for retail merchandising operations at a branch/division level for RFS Coffee & Freshmen ts. This role acts as a relief retail merchandiser for vacation coverage, open routes, and training routes, while supporting the execution and compliance of planograms, promotions, and retail initiatives as established by the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading, delivering, and merchandising items including coffee products, brewing supplies, cups, condiments, fresh food, snacks, beverages, and sundries to customer locations contracted by RFS Coffee & Freshmen ts. Verifies orders received and reconciles variances according to operational procedures.
  • Replenishing micro‑market, pantry, coffee, and vending items; cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, fixtures, and display or checkout areas; completing inventory counts; and collecting cash or electronic payments where applicable.
  • Rotating product to ensure first‑in/first‑out (FIFO) compliance in coolers, shelves, coffee racks, and machines. Properly displays merchandise and removes expired or soon‑to‑expire product before the next scheduled service.
  • Properly picking, dating, handling, and storing perishable food products. Ensures cold food and dairy items are maintained within approved temperature ranges. Verifies and records temperatures and notifies management of any temperature deviations.
  • Executing company planograms and promotions according to corporate and division standards and timelines.
  • Ensuring fixtures, kiosks, brewers, coolers, and related equipment are properly placed, operational, and free of visible defects or safety concerns.
  • Accurately recording transactions on delivery tickets and/or electronic devices. Maintains assigned handheld devices, printers, keys, and accessories in good working order. Accountable for product, cash, documentation, and inventory reconciliation per company procedures.
  • Utilizing route systems and handheld inventory devices in accordance with company SOPs to maintain accurate inventory levels. Orders replacement inventory as needed and reports theft, vandalism, or shortages immediately.
  • Assisting management with communication to customers regarding new products, services, or promotions. Sets up promotional displays and distributes promotional materials.
  • Listening to and resolving customer service issues on‑site or coordinating with management and service teams as needed.
  • Performing minor equipment service tasks such as water filter changes, cleaning brewer components, replacing light bulbs or receipt paper, and reporting larger equipment issues to maintenance or service dispatch.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized company vehicle and storage areas. Completes daily vehicle inspections, properly uses fuel cards and PINs, and reports maintenance needs promptly.
  • Complying with DOT regulations and company policies related to safety, loss prevention, cash handling, and inventory control.
  • Promoting a safe work environment and reporting unsafe conditions or behaviors to management.
General Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on a repetitive basis and perform frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (DOT requirement) with a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to consent to a pre‑employment background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
