OverviewLocate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including, but not limited to, telephone, electric power, cable television, gas, fiber optic, water, and sewer lines. This position is key to ensuring compliance with client and state requirements. The role involves observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations using multiple methods.
Technicians work independently or as part of a team under supervision, requiring focus, skill, and the use of machinery and tools.

Responsibilities- Accurately locate underground facilities (telephone, electric, cable TV, gas, fiber optic, water, sewer lines).
- Observe, locate, mark, and document underground and exposed utility locations.
- Use a transmitter and hook‑up equipment to identify buried facilities.
- Navigate varied terrain in construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas in all weather conditions.
- Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.
- Perform locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers, teammates, contractors, and management to ensure a damage‑free environment.
- Maintain proper technology and work vehicles to perform all work‑related duties.
- High School Diploma or equivalency (GED).
- State‑issued driver’s license.
- Ability to problem‑solve.
- Ability to read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints.
- Experience with utility locating (1 year preferred).
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and walk/stand for multiple hours a day.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
- Pass a DOT drug test.
