UG Operator (Travel Crew)

The UG Operator will operate a variety of heavy equipment safely while digging and working around existing utilities. The role requires knowledge of the telecom construction industry and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

• Inspect and maintain equipment such as drilling rigs, water trucks, mud vacuum units, and trailers.
• Fill water trucks, confirm mud vac emptiness, and prepare materials for the workday.
• Assist the locator in potholing utilities, choosing appropriate drill heads based on soil conditions.
• Drill bores following locator instructions, manage tailings flow, and retrieve product.
• Help sweep product into pits, set ped stumps, and restore areas after work.
• Load and unload drills, excavators, and other equipment; move equipment between jobs.
• Complete job safety analysis (JSA), identify hazards, and maintain clear traffic zones.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

• Previous experience in telecom, utility, construction, or engineering.
• CDL license preferred.
• Confined space training.
• OSHA 10 and 30 certifications preferred (training provided).
• First aid certification preferred (training provided).

Salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and equity relative to similar roles.
