What We Need:Brady Corporation is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Controls and Repair Specialist to oversee the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of our automated manufacturing machinery and facility control systems. In this role, you will be the primary technical expert responsible for keeping our production lines running efficiently, minimizing downtime, and ensuring all electrical and mechanical control systems operate safely.
What You'll Be Doing:- Guide, train, and mentor junior and lower-level maintenance technicians to build their troubleshooting skills and technical capabilities.
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control system failures.
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Execute scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on automated machinery and instrumentation.
- Calibrate and repair sensors, actuators, transmitters, and process control loops.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, ladder logic, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical manuals.
- Assist in designing, installing, and commissioning new automated control systems and hardware upgrades.
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, parts changes, and program modifications in the CMMS.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a maintenance technician or controls specialist in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and industrial safety protocols (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, NFPA 70E).
- High proficiency using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and PC-based diagnostic software.
- Core shift is M-F, 6am - 2:30pm. Must be available to work extended hours and overtime as needed to support production demands and resolve emergency breakdowns.
- Availability to work one mandatory weekend per month.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs independently
Additional Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Demonstrated experience coaching, training, or leading other technical team members.
- Proven experience programming and troubleshooting major PLC brands (e.g., Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or Mitsubishi).
- Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
