The mission of New Vision Charter School is to challenge, encourage, and empower students every day to persevere on their journey to becoming lifelong learners. We are looking for a creative, inspiring professional to join our 6th grade team!

Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing Core Knowledge Science and Social Studies curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

• Teaches appropriate, grade level, standards-based Core Knowledge curriculum
• Thorough understanding of the teaching/learning process and knowledge of best instructional practices
• Ability to create a rigorous, well managed, risk-free, and nurturing classroom environment
• Communicate with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.
• Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, office staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent human relations and customer service skills.
• Continuous growth and development in the grade level and content area

Additional Duties
