Olsson’s Rail Traffic experts provide clients with a single resource for services such as traffic signal preemption design, grade crossing safety design, traffic operations studies, and other related services. As a Senior Engineer for the Rail Traffic team, you will take the lead on traffic and preemption analysis and design. Your responsibilities will include conducting site visits, preparing plans or studies, and collaborating closely with team members on complex projects.
This position offers an opportunity to engage in multifaceted tasks that are crucial for successful project outcomes.
Senior Engineers on the Rail Traffic team can expect occasional travel to job sites for observation and to attend client meetings. We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in working a remote or hybrid schedule out of our Irvine, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, Denver, Loveland, Omaha, and Lincoln office locations. - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 8+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Synchro, or similar software
- Strong problem‑solving and math skills

State pay ranges: $126,000 – $173,000 USD (Colorado); $129,000 – $177,000 USD (California).
