We are looking for the best and brightest talent to join our Colorado Water Resources team. An ideal candidate will be someone who can use their passion and apply it to today’s challenges while reinventing tomorrow. Our water resources team serves top clients in the Denver metropolitan area and along the Colorado Front Range, including the Mile High Flood District, Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority, City of Aurora, City and County of Denver, City of Fort Collins, City of Boulder, and more.

The team supports all phases of projects from planning studies and master plans to design, permitting, and construction services.

Responsibilities

As a valued Jacobs employee, you will work with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver successful projects. You will have the opportunity to work on hydrologic and 1D/2D hydraulic modeling, stormwater conveyance design, floodplain modeling, river and ecosystem restoration, dams, reservoirs, and many other water‑related projects. Projects include planning studies, master plans, modeling, alternatives evaluations, preliminary and final design, decision modeling and optimization, cost analysis, permitting, land acquisition, construction services, and more.

Every member of the team supports business development and works directly with clients on the projects they lead, developing long‑term relationships. Opportunities abound to learn from senior staff and eventually mentor younger engineers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline from an ABET‑accredited university program
  • Interest in and understanding of water‑related projects
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
  • Self‑motivated, self‑teaching, initiator
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
  • Must live within the metropolitan Denver/Loveland area or plan to relocate; no relocation assistance provided
Ideal Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, AutoCAD (Civil 3D), or Micro Station
  • Experience with water‑related software programs
  • Desire to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure within the next 5 years
