Responsibilities- Inpatient care is primarily located at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO, and UCHealth Greeley Hospital in Greeley, CO. Additionally, you may be asked to help cover at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO.
- Includes management of pulmonary floor, step-down, and ICU patients in collaboration with pulmonology/critical care physicians
- Performs rounding, new consults, admissions, and discharges
- Performs history and physicals, orders and interprets tests, and orders treatments
- Coordinates with other health care professionals
- Performs advanced procedures
- Initial orientation will focus on hospital management of pulmonary and critical care patients.
- Training will be altered based on the APPs experience
- Northern Colorado is a growing area, and UCHealth is growing to meet the demands of our community. Thus, the pulmonary/critical care APP role and responsibilities are subject to grow and change in the future.
- Epic EMR is utilized system-wide.
- Preferred:
- Adult/Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC-AG) or a Physician Assistant with acute care experience.
- Critical care experience (RN ICU experience, completion of critical care fellowship, or previous work experience in an ICU).
- Pulmonary experience.
- Variety - cover at multiple hospitals and see both pulmonary and critical care patients.
- Our schedule supports a work-life balance. 1.0 FTE equals 80 hours per pay period, day shift 7 am to 5 pm. Every 3rd weekend in the hospital. No call at this time.

Requirements for Physician Assistants- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Colorado.
- Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) issued by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment
- Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
- Eligible to provide services reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
- Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusion from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspectors General (HHS/OIG) or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
- Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
