The position develops, directs, and manages operational activities within the laboratory to effectively meet company objectives.

• Hires, trains, and conducts performance evaluations; directs workflow for departmental staff and provides education and mentoring. Also responsible for developing and implementing departmental goals and objectives, ensuring they are met timely and effectively.
• Works collaboratively with SQL/LSA and Banner Finance Teams, participates in budget development, and ensures budgetary goals are met annually.
• Ensures laboratory compliance with CLIA for patient care and nursing, OSHA regulations, and relevant Banner Health initiatives.
• Leads and participates in task forces and councils to develop and implement processes, procedures, and programs that increase operational efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness, using Six Sigma and Lean.
• Facilitates timely and accurate communication of information to staff, clients, Banner Health, and LSA/SQL.

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Four (4) years’ training and experience in high‑complexity testing in the relevant specialty.
• Two (2) years’ supervisory experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
• MLS or specialty certification.
• Additional related education and/or experience.
