Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Job SummaryThe CTO for Power Generation is the key executive responsible for guiding the company's technological vision and strategy across all power‑generation assets, technologies, and innovation initiatives.
Responsibilities- Direct the strategic design, acquisition, management, and implementation of an enterprise‑wide technology infrastructure.
- Monitor and analyze technology trends that could improve the company's products and performance.
- Guide capital planning from a technology perspective, including lifecycle management, modernization, and asset‑replacement decisions.
- Own the technical integrity of generation assets across their full lifecycle.
- Chair technical review boards and major project gate reviews.
- Develop and execute the company’s overall technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative technology solutions and products for the executive team and ensure alignment across the organization.
- Oversee the company’s technology infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
- Manage and mentor engineering, IT, and technical operations teams to promote high performance and collaboration.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning, digital transformation, and organizational growth.
- Establish and monitor technology budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data security, privacy regulations, and technology standards.
- Build and maintain vendor, partner, and stakeholder relationships to support the company’s technology ecosystem to investors, regulators, and the public.
- Communicate technology vision and initiatives clearly across departments and to stakeholders, including the board of directors.

- Graduate Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Technology Management, or an advanced degree in a related field from an accredited university.
- 15+ years experience in technology leadership roles, including software development, IT operations, or systems engineering.
- 5 years experience in executive or senior leadership roles.
- 2 years Mesa experience.
- Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
- None.
- Mastery of corporate strategy, governance, and global business environments to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, investor expectations, and economic trends to inform strategic technology investments.
- Knowledge of legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks impacting technology, data privacy, cybersecurity, and corporate operations.
- Awareness of emerging technology trends, innovation landscapes, and competitive dynamics.
- Visionary leadership with the ability to define and execute long‑term technology strategy that drives business growth.
- Exceptional board‑level communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong public representation and media engagement capabilities to enhance organizational reputation.
- Talent stewardship and culture shaping skills to attract, retain, and develop high‑performing technology teams.
- Ability to provide strategic foresight and guide the organization through complex technological and market shifts.
- Capacity to integrate technology strategy with corporate objectives, financial planning, and risk management.
