PositionDescription
The IT Operations Engineer I supports the stable operation of the operational region’s network and end‑user devices. Responsibilities include planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links, diagnosing, resolving, and documenting all hardware, software, and network issues, and providing end‑user training and support where required.
Essential Duties- Strategy & Planning – Collaborate with IT staff to create optimal network design topologies and configurations; assist in developing and implementing policies for end‑user devices such as desktops, laptops, and mobile; respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans; prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures, manuals, and checklists for network installations, including data, voice, and video systems.
- Procurement & Deployment – Support the development and implementation of networking projects and new technology initiatives; conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards; evaluate and recommend networking hardware and software products; maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of networking contracts and supervise contract‑based installations.
- Operational Management – Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end‑user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products; assist the Tier 1 Service Desk with escalation of IT issues; maintain servers, security solutions, and all network and hardware equipment; monitor and test network performance and provide performance statistics and reports; perform on‑site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users;
maintain proper end‑user configuration, IT hardware inventory, licensing, and PC/end‑user onboarding and offboarding of all IT equipment.
- Minimum Education – High School/GED (college diploma or university degree in computer science or related field considered a plus).
- Experience – 2+ years equivalent work experience in network systems, protocols, and standards; hands‑on technical knowledge of Ethernet, LAN, WAN, and TCP/IP; experience with Microsoft Active Directory Services, Windows Server OS, Office 365, VMware, and Cisco technologies such as AMP, Umbrella, NAM, and Any Connect; hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting experience; knowledge of anti‑virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and network security measures.
- Certifications – ITIL preferred; additional relevant certifications considered a plus.
- Skills & Attributes – Strong written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills; self‑motivated and directed; attention to detail; analytical and problem‑solving abilities; strong customer service orientation; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment; experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
- Light Work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Periodic walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, reading, speaking, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and finger/type. Frequency varies by workflow and office activity.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and printer.
- Regularly sits in a stationary position in front of a computer screen.
- Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate.
Annual Base Salary: $74,100.00 – $81,900.00 USD.
