Summary/ObjectivesThe Branch Manager I is responsible for leading and coaching the branch team, overseeing the administration and coordination of sales and service activities, maximizing revenue and profitability, ensuring compliance with operational and security procedures, deepening existing relationships, and minimizing customer attrition.
Essential Functions- Track progress toward branch loan and deposit goals and initiate directives to accomplish these objectives.
- Develop branch projections and expectations in strategic planning to include sales goals.
- Provide leadership in all areas by setting an example for the staff to follow.
- Supervise staff performance, including decisions on employment, performance ratings, promotions, salary, transfers, and termination.
- Assist staff in setting goals and coach them to achieve success.
- Direct hiring, training, and retraining of branch staff, covering operations, product knowledge, customer relations, and sales.
- Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss sales and campaigns, products/services, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ensure branch security procedures are followed and understand the functions of security devices.
- Comply with branch audit procedures and support Regional Operations Specialist visits.
- Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially.
- Process loan applications within lending authority and assist in collections of delinquent loans.
- Manage loan and deposit exceptions within South State Bank expectations.
- Open new deposit accounts and manage other routine services such as stop payments and wire transfers.
- Resolve customer problems and complaints with courtesy and discretion.
- Participate in community business development activities to promote client relationships.
- Explain bank objectives, policies, and programs to employees.
- Monitor branch resources and assets; submit requests as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations (Regulation CC, Bank Secrecy Act).
- Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work area.
- Maintain strong understanding of customer‑facing technology and enroll customers in self‑service options.

- Education:
High School Diploma, BA Degree, and/or 2 years in Banking. - Experience:
Minimum 2 years in banking, including lending, management, supervisory experience, strong organizational skills, proven leadership, strong PC skills, and problem‑solving ability. - Knowledge:
Excellent leadership and communication skills, planning and organization, decision‑making, excellent writing, training and presentation skills, customer service orientation, initiative.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsMust be willing to travel for meetings and classes, stand or sit for long periods, and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports.
Work EnvironmentThe role is most likely in an open lobby area with an individual workstation or private office within a cooled and heated facility, with access to a break room or restroom.
TravelTravel may be required to attend meetings and training as needed.
PayColorado law: pay range $58,496.00 – $93,444.00, actual offers based on skills, experience, and education.
