General

Summary:

Assemble custom switch matrix chassis using Integration Statements of Work (ISOW) and assembly drawings (blueprints), while ensuring high-quality standards and craftsmanship. Must be able to understand electrical / mechanical schematics, block diagrams, Bill of Materials (BOM) and demonstrate GMP manufacturing techniques.

Requirements Essential Job Function:
  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly while maintaining quality workmanship standards to ensure product reliability.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, block diagrams, or technical instructions to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and assemble chassis to meet the integration statement of work (ISOW) and assembly drawings and specifications of the design.
  • Install electrical or electronic purchased parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment, hand and power tools.
  • Work cross functionally with other integrators, peers, quality control, test technicians and customer Keysight staff members.
  • Be able to communicate and comprehend problems and elevate issues to the next level (Change Control).
  • Understand New Product Introduction (NPI) and be able to convey changes that need to be communicated to the System Engineer through redlining.
  • Must be able to understand written and oral instructions.
  • Computer literate and be able to work with Microsoft Office Suite application.
  • Must be able to learn other computer program applications that are internally used.
  • Must be able to inspect & identify workmanship defects, as well as non-conforming purchased parts.
  • Develop, design, or create application concepts, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including continuous process improvement.
  • Successful interface leveraging direct communication with the design engineering team and project coordinators.
  • Understands and applies the standards for control of Electrostatic discharge (ESD)
  • Cross train and work in other divisions/departments as needed
  • Demonstrate and apply our internal and external company values (aka "Anchors") by working positively and collaboratively with team members and customers to form good partnerships and great teams while innovating, eliminating the non-essential and improving.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of both English and metric hardware fasteners, understand CAD assembly drawings and mechanical/electrical schematics.
  • Extreme attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, high quality and demanding deadlines.
  • Must assess the value, contribution importance, or quality of workmanship within components/assemblies, processes or partnership relationships.
  • Minor soldering with delicate components.
  • Fabrication of ribbon & DC power cables, as well as cable integrity testing.
  • Must be very detail oriented, able to focus, and be organized. Able to obtain goals, prioritize deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Decision making & problem-solving skills. Using logic & reasoning to identify issues and possible solutions(troubleshooting). Also, to be able to communicate identified issues to others in a technical manner.
  • Able to work with a diverse cross functional team, and co-workers (team player).
  • Attention to quality, details, and accuracy.
  • Must consistently demonstrate sense of pride, reliability and accountability for performance.
  • Inspect equipment, assemblies, or materials to identify the root cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Mechanically inclined and good manual dexterity. Able to assemble small mechanical pieces within a confined cabinet.
