Position: Food Safety / Quality Assurance Manager

Overview

Food Safety/Quality Assurance Manager. Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $92,000.00/yr. Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, GFSI, and regulatory compliance. You’ll lead a team of QA professionals, ensure compliance with USDA and BRC standards, and champion continuous improvement across all food safety operations. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, protein-focused manufacturing environment and is passionate about delivering safe, high-quality products to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the facility Quality Assurance team; responsible for hiring and team member development, and day-to-day quality function operations.
  • Provide oversight of QA/QC processes, including conducting quality audits.
  • Investigate customer complaints using root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions; track complaint trends.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to senior management with actionable insights.
  • Write, maintain, and improve quality system SOPs.
  • Lead the execution of HACCP plans and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with standards at national and international levels.
  • Review SOPs and specifications; design, implement, and maintain food safety protocols and sanitation programs.
  • Drive innovation through scientific research and technology adoption.
  • Oversee all aspects of daily quality operations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations.
  • Provide inspection activity for product throughout the production cycle and apply total quality management tools to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Schedule and coordinate preparations for product inspections and testing; maintain exceptional attention to detail and strong multitasking and leadership skills.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, GFSI, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with QA/QC processes including conducting quality audits.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis, implement CAPAs, and communicate findings to senior management.
  • Proficient in writing and maintaining quality system SOPs; capable of supervising and developing a QA team.
  • Understanding of industry standards for food safety and quality; familiarity with national/international standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA reporting systems; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
