Dietitian / Nutritionist, Health Promotion
Responsible for planning and organizing day-to-day activities responding to the health and educational needs of patients by developing, implementing and directing programs to meet these needs. Provides Nutritional screenings and consultations for patients admitted to Medical Surgical Department, Cancer Center, Gastroenterology, and Pediatrics. Provides individualized diabetes self-management education/ training to individuals and groups according to the Scope of Practice, Standards of Practice, and Standards of Professional performance for Diabetes Educators (AADE, 2005).
- Performs dietary evaluation screenings and consultation for dietary modifications for inpatient, observation, outpatient, and dietary departments with accurate and appropriate documentation based on scope of practice.
- Develops educational goals, learning objectives and a plan for educational content and teaching methods with DSME/T program participants.
- Develop and conduct evaluations and diagnostic studies to assess the quality and performance of health education programs.
- Develop and present diabetes education and promotion programs, such as training workshops, conferences, and school or community presentations.
- Develop, conduct, or coordinate health needs assessments and other public health surveys.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with agencies and organizations interested in public health care.
