With the supervision of a Physician or must be a physician, performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients, and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings.
NPs practice in settings that require diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems. Must have the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. Performs all duties and services in full compliance with NLHD's policies and protocols.

- Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
- Licensed to practice in New Mexico as a Physician, DO, MD, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
- Prescriptive authority
- Good communication skills
- Competency in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedures
Ability to assist patients and move equipment, extensive walking, sitting, stair climbing, and use of protective gear against blood borne pathogens.
