Family Medicine - Lowell
The Patient Billing Coordinator performs various procedures associated with routine patient encounters, maintains positive relationships with patients, family members, visitors and fellow employees. Ensures all clinic staff are informed of policies and workflow changes as it relates to procedures that affect reimbursement. Communicates insurance and billing changes with appropriate staff. Manages the queue to ensure timely payment and claim submission. Liaison between patient billing advocates, physicians and patients to address billing concerns.
Works closely with CBO staff to address any claim issues.

To apply for a position at any MANA Clinic, you must complete a MANA employment application. Applicants may list the position(s) they are interested in applying on the application and only need to complete one application.
Applications are reviewed by the Human Resources Department at the MANA Administrative Office and are shared with the clinic managers. Applications are kept in our database for managers to review for six (6) months. MANA is an equal opportunity employer.
Responsibilities- Greet patients with a smile and manage all phases of the patient encounter.
- Verify the patient’s name, address, phone number, and health insurance coverage. Accurately enter payments into the computer and maintain the cash drawer, checks, and balances, including the end‑of‑day summary.
- Answer basic billing and insurance questions, and refer to the appropriate source when unable to provide an answer.
- Discharge patients with instructions to call back or return if they have any questions or concerns.
- Tabulate charges, collect copays and other applicable fees, and accurately enter payments into the computer. Maintain the cash drawer, checks, and balances, including the end‑of‑day summary. Answer basic billing and insurance questions.
- Work the front desk as needed.
- High school diploma or GED
- 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training
