The Alarm, Security, & Cabling Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, documentation, and maintenance of low‑voltage systems including security cameras, access control, fire alarm, and burglar alarm systems. This role ensures systems are installed to code, fully functional, and meet client requirements. The technician must hold and maintain the required Arkansas state license for security and access control installations.
Job Functions- Install, configure, and repair security camera systems (IP and analog).
- Install, terminate, and test low‑voltage cabling (Cat5/6, coax, fiber as applicable).
- Install, configure, and repair access control systems, including door hardware, readers, controllers, and software.
- Install, configure, and service fire alarm and burglar alarm systems.
- Perform site visits across Northwest Arkansas for installation, service, and maintenance.
- Document all work, including diagrams, wiring maps, photos, and service notes.
- Plan installations by reviewing site surveys, schematics, and collaborating with the internal sales and project teams.
- Operate necessary tools and equipment (lifts, ladders, hand tools, test equipment, power tools) safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot and repair cabling, hardware, and software issues.
- Maintain compliance with Arkansas licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure job sites are clean, safe, and ready for client use upon completion.
- Communicate professionally with clients on‑site, providing updates, instructions, and training when needed.
- Maintain inventory of cabling, tools, and installation materials; report shortages or needs.
- Contribute to company documentation and knowledge base by recording standard installation practices and lessons learned.
- Stay current with evolving technologies in cameras, access control, fire/burglar alarms, and low‑voltage infrastructure.
- Assist with small internal IT/operations projects as needed.
- Valid Arkansas state license for security/camera/access control/fire/burglar alarm installation (must be maintained in good standing).
- 1+ years of experience in security, cabling, or alarm system installation.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand/power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in varying environmental conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with commercial environments
