TITLE: Instructional Assistant

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time Support Staff Employee ($13.00 per hour)

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of at least two years of college coursework (60 credit hours), an associate degree, or successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment as required by Title I regulations.
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Demonstrated patience, positivity, and a supportive attitude toward student learning.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering reading lessons and instructional activities.
• Support teachers in providing instruction to individual students and small groups.
• Reinforce academic, behavioral, and social expectations established by the teacher.
• Monitor student progress and provide teachers with feedback on student performance.
• Assist with classroom management using positive behavior support strategies.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain organized records.
• Assist with classroom organization and help maintain a safe, welcoming, and productive learning environment.
• Operate classroom technology and standard office equipment as required.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and educational records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or principal.

Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
