All About On-DemandYou can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those who are looking for a personalized work schedule.
As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via the myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule. When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary.
Active engagement by picking up and working shifts once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours) is expected. Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you must respond to attempts to contact you to confirm interest in working shifts you do not respond, employment may be terminated. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated.
Your communication and ability to work when our business demands it are critical to success in this role. Should you be offered a position as an On-Demand TM, you will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After that, the myTime mobile scheduling app is used to pick up shifts you desire to work.

As a Guest Advocate, no two days are the same, but a typical day will likely include:
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete your daily tasks
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
- Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store, to solve issues and improve the guest experience
- Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
- Scan and bag items efficiently and in compliance with safety standards and best practices
- Work to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
- Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches and store activities
- Know and explain the benefits of Target Loyalty and assist with enrollment; be familiar with fulfillment services and how guests can enroll, activate, and use them
- Show guests how to use Wallet and other Target App features
- Handle returns following policies and procedures, escalating to leaders as needed
- De-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience in line with Target policies
- Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
- Work safely and report hazards; follow safety policies and training
- Support guest services such as OPU, Drive-up Orders, and related duties in compliance with laws
- Support cash office processes as needed
- All other duties based on business needs
