Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an individual with strong expertise related to various aspects of system administration supporting MACOM offices and data centers globally.

• Manage MACOM’s IT infrastructure and related services.
• Provide technical recommendations for services performance and reliability improvements.
• Provide technical leadership to run function team.

• Installing, configuring, maintaining, performing upgrades and downgrades, troubleshooting, documenting for systems, servers, and infrastructure devices and related services.
• Recommends and develops mission critical solutions; makes recommendations to address capacity constraints and performance limitations on a wide range of technologies.
• Evaluate performance, monitor workloads, and analyze results to ensure optimal operations.
• Develop and improve upon operational procedures and standards.
• Lead/coordinate projects including new installations, upgrades, retrofits, etc.
• Enterprise business and engineering applications support
• Partner with the business to gather requirements and ensure needs are being met.

• Intermediate to advanced Windows / Linux administration skills.
• Architecture:
  Recommends and develops mission critical solutions; makes recommendations to address capacity constraints and performance limitations on a wide range of technologies.
• Excellent documentation and analytical skills.
• Project management:
  Ability to provide a thorough planning approach to large scale projects.
• Inter-personal and communication skills:
  Capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a supplier liaison, making presentations to customers, clients, and professional peers.

• Linux and / or Windows administration
• Virtualization: VMWare / Nutanix
• Backup and recovery:
  Veeam

• Hardware installation and management: HP, Dell, Netapp etc.
• Data Center management:
  Power, rack space, cooling etc.
• Cloud: AWS / Azure
• Storage: NFS, CIFS, iSCSI etc.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Powershell, Python, etc.)

• 8+ years related IT System Administration experience
• 10+ years of IT related experience
• Relevant certifications
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree
• Experience working within the Semiconductor Industry is a plus
• Ability to work independently and in teams reaching high levels of productivity
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrate strong work ethics
