** 40 hours weekly. Monday-Friday, 730am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm.

** Job Profile Summary
** This role focuses on all aspects of interventional radiology procedures, elective and emergent utilizing imaging modalities such as DSA, fluoroscopy, US and CT. A clinical technologist role that has specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, and experience. An experienced level role requiring basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requiring vocational or technical education.
Works under moderate supervision, works through problems of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.
** Job Overview
** This position performs interventional radiologic procedures in according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Trained and experienced in the care of patients undergoing Interventional Radiology Procedures such as Angiograms, Thrombectomy, Kyphoplasty, Venous Access, Biopsy and Drainage. Highly motivated, flexible, team player able to maintain calm and focused in situations of extreme emergency. Must be flexible and understand that needs/schedule changes throughout the day and must be able to adjust accordingly.
Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care.

**** Minimum Qualifications of a IR Tech I:
** 1. Associate degree in Radiology or related field.
2. Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT).3. Radiologic Technologist state license eligible.
4. Basic Life Support Certification.

2. X-Ray experience.
3. Interventional Radiology Technologist Experience.
4. Vascular Intervention (VI) certification.

* Duties and Responsibilities:
** The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Positions and prepares patients for interventional procedure based on procedure being performed and under direction of Interventional Radiologist
2. Prepares sterile procedure tray with supplies in accordance with procedure being performed and under direction of Interventional Radiologist.
3. Assists physician in proper positioning of guide wires, catheters and devices used during interventional procedures.
4. Maintains sterile field and neat/organized procedure table.
5. Circulate room during procedures, identify and open proper supplies, as requested by performing physician, using appropriate hand off technique.
6. Sends images to PACS, merges studies, approve and assign to appropriate physician.
7. Maintains records of exam performed including all supplies used, contrast media and fluoro time during procedures.
8. Monitors and is fully engaged in radiation safety practices including badges, safety equipment (lead apron surveys, glasses, shielding), follows radiation safety guidelines and protocols and attends required radiation safety training.
9. Instructs patients with pre and post procedure education as needed.
10. Assists with inventory, maintenance, and ordering of supplies
11. Possess skills pertinent to patient monitoring procedures such as as blood pressure, pulse oximetry, intravenous care and sterile technique.
12. Accurately enters all charges and reviews charge for reconciliation upon exam completion.

* Physical Requirements:
** 1. Frequent standing, occasional sitting & walking, lifting of 30-35 lbs.
2. Pushing, pulling, and moving stretchers and imaging machines.
3. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate transducers, imaging equipment and computer keyboard.
4. Hearing and visual sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, hear equipment and hospital alarms.
5. Close contact with patients having contagious diseases.
6. Exposure to patients injected with radioisotopes, necessitating wearing a lead apron during exams.
7. Frequent contacts with patients, physicians, patients’ families, and other personnel throughout the hospital.
