. As an Awake Overnight Counselor, you will provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a small group residential setting or an individual living arrangement. You will work with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives by building independence skills or increasing each person’s quality of life. Awake Overnight Counselors have a range of duties including administering medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP), implementing treatment plans, and assisting people with activities of daily living.
Additional responsibilities include nightly cleaning and filing.
- Provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in small group residential settings or individual living arrangements.
- Collaborate with people served, families, friends, employers, and other staff to promote independence and quality of life.
- Administer medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP).
- Implement treatment plans and assist with activities of daily living.
- Perform nightly cleaning and filing tasks.
- High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field is preferred.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain injury strongly preferred.
- Strong time management and writing skills.
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid US driver’s license for at least 6 months.
- Ability to become CPR and First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment and MAP certified within 150 days of employment.
- Must be able to pass CORI, reference, national fingerprinting and driving record checks.
Pay Range: USD $18.75 per hour.
