Youth Program Staff

Lowell Association for the Blind (LAB) is seeking a Youth Program Staff to work in its Youth Department, providing programming for blind and visually impaired young people ages 5-21. The role supports participants’ growth and community participation.

• Provide direct service at all program activities. Programs take place primarily on weekends with weekday programs scheduled during The Summer And School Vacation Weeks.
• Lead Youth Program (Social/Recreational), ages 5-13.
• Lead Senior Youth Program (Social/Recreational), ages 14-21.
• Lead Senior Teen Employment Program (STEP).
• Lead Visually Impaired Partners (VIP) Program ? Mentoring with blind and visually impaired adults and youth, ages 14-21.
• Provide door-to-door transportation. Assist with participant pick‑ups and supervise participants in agency vehicle.
• Act as a sighted guide as necessary.
• Be a positive role model for all program participants.
• Assist with participant supervision during program hours.

• Experience working with youth and teens preferred; experience working with blind and visually impaired youth a plus, but not required.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and excellent driving record.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and most weekends.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Must be able to pass a CORI background check.
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.
• Weekends required.
