As a member of the Patient Care Team in the Main & Saints Campus Emergency Departments you will ensure that the patient and family members are attended to in a caring and attentive manner, responding to the needs of patients/family members in a timely manner and maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.

Job Profile Summary

This position focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. The role performs nursing support duties such as providing basic care services, providing patient care with advanced equipment, and supporting the work of physicians and registered nurses. The clinical technologist role requires specialized knowledge or skills gained through vocational education, training, and experience.

Hours & Location

36 Hours per week / Full Time. Main Campus:
Day/Evening Shifts 7am-7pm. Saints Campus:
Day/Evening OR Evening/Night 7am-7pm OR 7pm-7am. Every 3rd weekend rotation required. Rotating holiday shifts required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited Nursing program
  • One year recent experience as a Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Critical Care Tech (CCT) or Patient Care Tech (PCT)
  • Prior experience in acute care
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists with examinations, procedures, tests, treatments, using glucometer, hoyer lift, vital signs, urinalysis, blood glucose, microalbumin, A1C. Takes vital signs and weights.
  • Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), preparing meals, responding to call lights, ambulation and transfers.
  • Provides complete hygienic care to patients, distributing linens, making beds, changing linens, changing briefs, bedpans, urinals, catheters, admin. cleansing enemas.
  • Applies principles of prevention to maintain skin integrity and skeletal muscular alignment. Changes simple dry sterile dressings.
  • Assists self-care ostomy patients with pouching and preventive skin care.
  • Prepares and administers hot and cold applications, including sitz bath, soaks and packs.
  • Applies supportive appliances, i.e. slings, ace bandages, elastic stockings, binders when appropriate.
  • Obtains, documents and reconciles allergy and medication lists.
  • Collects and prepares specimens and relevant documentation for transportation to off-site laboratory, assuring accuracy in labeling and documenting. Update and reconcile all lab results in EMR.

Pay Range

$20.12 - $25.15 per hour.
