As a Maintenance Technician you will perform mechanical installation and subsequent repair and maintenance of pipelines for natural gas utility.
Pay Range- Level I: $25.72 - $38.44 per hour
- Level II: $28.75 - $43.17 per hour
- Senior: $32.36 - $48.41 per hour
Gas Operations Supervisor
LocationLowell, Arkansas
Essential Functions- Responsible for installing, relocating, replacing, maintaining and repairing gas lines.
- Inspect pipeline and structural welding required for construction and maintenance of Company facilities including the installation, operation and maintenance of distribution and transmission facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Coordinate schedules, safety programs & communications, and assist in qualification evaluation.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools, including picks, shovels, sharpshooters, pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, bolt cutters, pavement saws, jack hammers, air guns, pipe threaders etc.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle and drive a motor vehicle daily or for extended periods of time.
- Submit to random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions.
- Safety focused work ethic with great work Attitude.
- Achieve and maintain all Operator Qualifications and requirements applicable to the job classification.
- May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed and respond or be on stand-by during non-working hours, especially related to company emergencies. Satisfy Call Out responsibilities.
- Operate a computer, tablet, and cell phone.
- Familiar with the operation and maintenance of equipment in the division.
- Take standby / call out.
- Other duties as assigned.
All Levels:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Driver License, valid and in State/Federal, State or Local certifications where required to perform work. Upon Hire
- Basic knowledge of natural gas operation
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high-pressure systems.
- Ability to work outdoors on a daily basis in all types of weather conditions.
- Knowledge of load sizing for measurement.
- Familiar with basic properties of metals.
- Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, and thickness testing equipment operations.
- General knowledge of regulators and relief valves found on project lines and main lines and general meter sets.
- Ability to become familiar with company policies and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
- Ability to interact positively with customers and respond to customer inquiries.
- Capability to work with a team, take directions from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to hand dig and expose other utilities.
- Ability to learn to operate and maintain equipment such as a backhoe, trenchers and other digging equipment.
- Ability to run pipeline construction equipment.
- Ability to deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and integrity.
- Maintain regular, diligent attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and digital literacy.
- Ability to lead and interpret job related blueprints and diagrams.
- Job planning and prioritizing.
- This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
Level I:
- No industry experience required. Training provided.
- Class A CDL License within 180 Days.
- Complete cohort training within first 6 months.
- Ability to obtain PE Fusion Certification.
Level II:
- Minimum of 2 years of utility and/or construction experience.
- Class A CDL License upon hire.
- SCBA Certified upon hire.
- PE Fusion upon hire.
- Heavy Equipment Operator upon hire.
Senior:
- Minimum of 4 years of utility and/or construction experience.
- Class A CDL License upon hire.
- SCBA Certified upon hire.
- PE Fusion upon hire.
- Heavy Equipment Operator upon hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain inspector/joiner certification.
- Advanced knowledge of natural gas operations.
