Residential Counselors - part time every weekend: evening (2nd) shift and overnight (3rd) shifts availablePart-Time (16 hours): 2nd Shift (Evenings): every Saturday and every Sunday 4pm-12am
Part-Time (16 hours): 3rd Shift (Overnights): every Saturday and every Sunday 12am-8am*
* Role includes a $3.00 hourly shift differential for working overnights*
Pay Range $20.59 to $21.21 per hour

Position Summary
This Residential Counselor will work in our Shelter Staff program and will be responsible for working closely with clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site, to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which include enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma-informed and client-centered approach.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of guests and the site
- Enforce rules and regulations to ensure smooth operation of the site
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, document appropriately, and communicate according to established guidelines
- Complete the intake process for new guests
- Provide support and structure, addressing guest/resident problems or concerns
- Initiate crisis intervention when necessary
- Record documentation as required by program guidelines

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- At least one year of previous experience working in the human services field with individuals in need of social services (preferably low income individuals) is required
- Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills in basic computer software and data collection
