Specialist SEN Teaching Assistants Wanted - Lowestoft & Surrounding Areas
Teaching Personnel is seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistants to work across schools and specialist provisions in Lowestoft and the surrounding areas.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Roles are available across a range of educational settings, including mainstream schools with SEN provisions, specialist resource bases, and dedicated SEN schools.

- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with additional needs
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
- Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally

- Help implement individual support plans and intervention programmes
- Promote independence, confidence, and personal development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other professionals
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Experience supporting pupils with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Experience supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Experience supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Experience supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Experience supporting pupils with behavioural needs and emotional regulation challenges
- Experience supporting pupils with sensory processing difficulties
- Previous experience desirable but not essential
- Transferable experience from care, support work, youth work, coaching, or other child‑centred roles
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
- Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
- Confident building positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Committed to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments
