Police Officer - Sizewell C & NSIP Roads Policing Team

Suffolk Constabulary are increasing capacity to escort abnormal loads.

We are looking to recruit Police Constables to fill vacancies within two teams:

The Roads Policing Team will be increased to provide the additional policing requirements as a result of the project and other NSIP’s . We are seeking applications from Police officers to join a Roads Policing Team specifically dedicated to either the Sizewell project or NSIP’s .

Whilst the team’s primary focus will be the timely movement of AILs, the team will also ensure the safe use of those roads used by the projects increased traffic (be this HGVs, LGVs or the project workforce) by dealing with road related incidents , fatal 4 enforcement and the investigation of RTCs.

Ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:

• MUST be a Police Constable out of their probationary period
• Police Advanced Car Driver or has evidence of suitability to be trained to advanced level.
• Demonstrates an interest in Roads Policing and a passion in road safety and Fatal 4 enforcement

• Police Response / advanced motorcyclist or evidence of suitability
• Escorting other road user trained (Abnormal load)
• Holds an up-to-date full motorcycle licence
• Rides or has ridden high powered motorcycles
• Rides regularly in all weather
• Accreditation in Initial Police Pursuits, TPAC and HoSTyDS (stinger) devices

Successful applicants will be trained to required standards and therefore should be able to demonstrate they have the aptitude for those courses.
