Cleaning Supervisor

This Cleaning Supervisor post sits within the Facilities Team at Vertas Group, which manages a six-strong cleaning team on one site. The job centres on keeping cleaning to a high standard through weekly quality inspections, training and onboarding new cleaners, and covering shifts when needed. It is a 25-hour weekday role on split shifts, with a strong emphasis on finishing touches beyond the standard schedule.

Prior cleaning supervisory experience is essential, and the post needs an enhanced DBS check.

• Supervise and support a team of six cleaners
• Ensure daily cleaning duties meet the required standard within allocated times
• Carry out weekly quality inspections and rectify any shortfalls
• Carry out attention-to-detail and presentation tasks across the site
• Provide hands-on cover for cleaning areas during sickness, absence or leave
• Train, support and develop existing and new cleaners
• Assist with onboarding new cleaners, covering schedules, site expectations, COSHH and standards
• Carry out regular stock takes
• Hold regular conversations with team members about service and issues
• Ensure safe working practices and company procedures are followed

• Previous cleaning supervisory experience
• Experience managing and motivating a cleaning team
• Confident carrying out cleaning duties personally

• Good understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment and COSHH procedures
• Strong attention to detail and exceptionally high standards
• Confident training new employees
• Able to organise staff cover and manage competing priorities
• Comfortable addressing performance or cleaning standard issues
