* We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, seeking to work in a dynamic environment that values technical expertise and customer service. The position involves hands-on work with various tools and equipment, requiring attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards.
* Responsibilities
* * Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
* Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams; perform repairs accordingly.
* Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and assembly techniques.
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs and modifications.
* Repair or replace mechanical components such as brakes, transmissions, axles, and suspension systems.
* Perform electrical repairs including wiring, soldering, and testing circuits.
* Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
* Assist with equipment installation or upgrades where required.
* Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly.
* Qualifications
* * Proven experience as an HGV Technician with a strong understanding of heavy vehicle systems.
* Knowledge of fabrication, welding, electrical systems, schematics, and mechanical assembly.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
* Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent are preferred but not essential.
* Applicant must hold a Class 1 & 2 Driving license

From £17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week
