Housing Options Officer Maidenhead (Hybrid Working) £18.17 - £20.16 per hour PAYE (£23.62 - £26.25 per hour Umbrella) Full Time | Temporary Contract | Minimum 3 Months We are recruiting for an experienced Housing Options Officer to join a busy local authority housing service in Maidenhead. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled homelessness professional who can manage a full Housing Options caseload and confidently make homelessness decisions with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering housing advice, homelessness prevention and statutory homelessness services, helping residents find sustainable housing solutions and ensuring compliance with current housing legislation. Based on the vacancy brief and job description, candidates must be able to manage cases from initial assessment through to final homelessness decisions and demonstrate strong knowledge of the Housing Reduction Act and Homelessness legislation.

Key Responsibilities Manage a personal caseload of homelessness applications. Conduct homelessness assessments and investigations. Provide housing advice and homelessness prevention support. Make legally robust homelessness decisions. Draft decision letters and complete statutory assessments. Liaise with support agencies including health services, probation teams and housing providers. Assess suitability for temporary accommodation. Maintain accurate case records and meet service targets. Participate in duty and enquiries rotas.

Essential Requirements Recent local authority Housing Options experience. Strong knowledge of the Housing Reduction Act and Homelessness legislation. Experience managing prevention, relief and main duty cases. Experience completing homelessness investigations and decision making. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working Arrangements Hybrid working, typically 1 day per week in the office. Office based in Maidenhead.

Full-time hours. Initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.
