Overview
Join to apply for the Administrative Assistant role at True North Steel in Lubbock, TX. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support, greet and direct visitors, respond to calls and emails, and support the Site Manager, Site HR Business Partner, and staff in all administrative related activities.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support, greet and direct visitors, answer and respond to calls and emails.
- Support the Site Manager, Site HR Business Partner, and staff in all administrative related activities.
- Act as an intercompany liaison, maintain confidentiality as needed, and display a friendly demeanor.
- Assist HR, QC, A/R, A/P, and P-Card functions related to the site.
- Provide backup coverage for incoming phone calls for the main Corporate phone line, as needed.
- Express all interoffice documents to Corporate daily or weekly.
- Assist in scheduling company activities, purchasing office supplies, and miscellaneous items for the site.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the True North Steel Game Changer definition.
- Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
- Assist HR in functions related to the site and recruiting team.
- Assist QC in functions related to the site.
- Assist A/R and A/P in functions related to the site.
- Assist in P-Card transactions related to the site.
- Provide backup coverage for incoming phone calls for the main Corporate phone line, as needed.
- Express all interoffice documents to Corporate on a daily or weekly basis.
- Assist in scheduling company activities.
- Purchase office supplies and misc items for site.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite of software.
- Ability to use company operating systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate via email and telephone.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to logically think through process steps and identify potential issues.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment or to defend a position or idea.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and in writing clearly and concisely.
- Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
- Ability to complete tasks or continue in a course of action in spite of opposition or discouragement.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical School degree with emphasis on Administrative Assistant or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of one to three years accounting and/or human resource experience.
