Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required.

On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description

Employees in this position are responsible for augmenting asupervising physician's data gathering abilities to reach decisions and institute patient care plans. Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a Physician.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provide patient care services under the supervision of the Physician and/or Medical Director.
  • Obtain and document detailed patient medical histories.
  • Conduct patient assessments and physical examinations,documenting findings and relevant clinical information.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, includingimaging, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections,immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, document patient progress, and support continuity of care.
  • Educate and counsel patients on treatment plans, preventive care, health maintenance, and lifestyle management.
  • Provide inpatient care and participate in hospital roundingschedules, including weekend coverage up to two (2) weekends amonth.
  • Support the educational mission of the Department of Surgerythrough participation in seminars, conferences, and special programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, medical students, residents,nurses, and allied health professionals to delivermultidisciplinary patient care.
Occasional Duties
  • Render emergency medical service without supervision, pending the arrival of a responsible physician, in cases where immediate diagnosis and treatment are necessary to avoid disability ordeath.
Required Qualifications

Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant licensein the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas.
